Because March is Women’s Month, we want to pay tribute to some OMF Lit writers (home-grown and imported) that have had a big influence in the lives of many and can also be a blessing to you, as a writer and as a reader.

Grace D. Chong

She is a “rockstar” among kids because of her widely-popular Oh Mateo series which follows the adventures of 6 year old Mateo as he meets odd characters and stumbles into strange situations.

After 20 years of being Creative Director/Executive Vice President in a multinational advertising agency, Grace decided to write full-time. She is a multi-awarded winner of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature and has written over 30 books, including an anthology of short stories, Gifts of Grace Books 1-3. Just last December, she launched Grace Found Me, a devotional specifically written for busy women.

Hayley DiMarco

She is the prolific and best-selling author of more than thirty books that have catchy titles and book covers like Mean Girls, Technical Virgin, Frenemies and Cupidity. Most of her books are aimed at teenagers and post-teenagers, dealing with topics like love, sex, dating and what it means to be a girl in this day and age.

She is the founder of Hungry Planet, a company intensely focused on feeding the world’s appetite for truth, creating books and other media for the next generation of believers.

Elisabeth Elliot

Every Christian woman (or man, come to think of it) should read at least one of her books. Elisabeth Elliot is one of the most influential Christian women of our time. For a half century, her best selling books, timeless teachings and courageous faith have influenced believers and seekers of Jesus Christ throughout the world. She uses her experiences as a daughter, wife, mother, widow, and missionary to bring the message of Christ to countless women and men around the world.

Elizabeth George

Elizabeth George is an author, teacher, and speaker whose ministry is dedicated to teaching the Bible to women in a way that changes their lives. Her books have sold more than 7 million copies. She is ranked in the “Top 20 Authors of 2010” by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Her husband, Jim is also a well-known writer and together, they want “to create books for practical Christian living and personal Bible study”.

Michelle McKinney Hammond

Can you say quadruple-threat? As a bestselling author, speaker, singer and television co-host, Michelle has authored over 30 books, including best-selling titles The Diva Principle, Sassy, Single and Satisfied, 101 Ways to Get and Keep His Attention, and Secrets of an Irresistible Woman. A gifted vocalist, Michelle has recorded two CD’s, It’s Amazing and Let’s Go In and co-hosted the Emmy Award-winning television talk show Aspiring Women.

Evelyn Miranda-Feliciano

Mrs. Feliciano is one of the Philippines’ foremost and most respected Christian authors, with a writing career that spanned 40 years and produced nearly 30 books and countless articles, radio scripts, poems, and other literature. She has won awards and was recognized in Christian and literary circles worldwide. Some of her works have been translated to Korean and Vietnamese.

Her book Love and Courtship was the first book originally written by a Filipino published by OMF Lit back in 1973. In August of 2010, Mrs. Feliciano passed away after weeks of illness due to a stroke. Her last published book is Faith in the Corridors of Power, a collaboration with former Senate President Dr. Jovito Salonga.

Yay Padua-Olmedo

She is one of OMF Lit’s newest writers and her first book, Going Up? is already a fast-seller. Aside from teaching Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations at Southville Foreign University in Las Pinas City, Philippines, she also conducts seminars and write inspirational materials.

Yay was the Vice President for Corporate Communications of the San Miguel Food Group until she retired in 1998. After her retirement, she became an entrepreneur servicing the corporate and marketing communications needs of client corporations.

Darlene Sala

She is a popular national and international conference speaker, has served along side her husband, Dr. Harold J. Sala, since their marriage on December 23, 1959. She has had an active ministry role as pastor’s wife, counselor, Bible teacher, missionary, musician and author. Darlene is actively involved in the leadership of Guidelines International Ministries, which reaches more than one hundred countries through radio, video, literature and conferences. She speaks several times each year at family conferences and churches in the United States as well as the Philippines , China , Ukraine , Russia and Africa .

    What a wonderful group of authors to be included with! Yes, I think God has given women a sensitivity to spiritual matters that is special. Perhaps that’s because we’re so “relational.”
