Book Monday: The Dopple Ganger Chronicles Vol 2: The Secret of the Indigo Moon

Posted: July 25, 2011 in Book Monday

Famed explorer and former thief Eric Morrisey Ganger and his mischievous sidekicks, twins Sadie and Saskia Dopple are off to new and more exciting adventures in the second volume of The Dopple Ganger Chronicles, the exciting new series that combine both traditional text and art in a genre called “illustra-novella”.

In the Secret of the Indigo Moon, the three “confirmed troublemakers”  didn’t go looking for a secret tunnel beneath the school. They never intended to make the acquaintance of a shifty private eye with a nose for trouble. It wasn’t part of the plan to come face-to-face with an old enemy, one with an agenda of his own that could destroy them all. And unraveling the “secret of indigo moon” was the furthest thing from their minds.

At Isambard Dunstan’s School for Wayward Children, these things just seem to happen. They plunge headlong into a new and perilous mystery, one that challenges everything they thought they knew about their lives, themselves, and who it’s safe to trust.

The author of this series is as unique as the books themselves. A motorcyclist and former rock band roadie turned Anglican minister, Graham Peter (G. P.) Taylor has been hailed as “hotter than Potter” and “the new C. S. Lewis” in the United Kingdom. He came up with the idea of the illustra-novella because he felt that a lot of children didn’t want to read chapter books anymore. “I wanted to get back to a book that read like watching a movie so that children would be interested.”, he shared.

With Volume 2 of the series, you can expect an even more incredible and exciting journey, as well as a story that is a testament to the bonds of friendship and overcoming adversity.
